2.  In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your

CyberFair project both on-line and in person?

Nowadays, there are many types of cameras. With a single push of the flash button, the camera will do its job. After the invention of the camera, people started to use them to record their memories. As photography techniques innovated and improved, traditional photography is almost eliminated. The birth of aerial photography caused Director Po-Lin Chi to use the technique to record our beautiful homeland, Taiwan. His documentary Beyond Beauty - Taiwan From Above gave people a whole new vision towards the island. Due to environmental pollution caused by technological improvements, the beauty of Taiwan gradually faded, and the meaning of “Formosa” once spoken by the Portuguese has vanished. It is aerial photography that gave people the inspiration to protect their home and to save the environment.

3.  What has been the impact of your project on your community?

By selecting Director Chi as our topic, we hope more and more people can look at Taiwan from another perspective rather than their normal vision. There are plenty of beauty hidden in every corner in Taiwan, yet there is also an ugly and sad side caused by environmental pollution. The purpose of our project is to globalize the issue and make our community pay attention to the importance of environmental protection. During the interview with Director Chi, we discussed how he can use aerial photography to influence people by taking the photo that shows the changes in Taiwan. Our website helps people by let them know the seriousness of pollution, and it was all recorded in Director Chi's documentary.

4.  How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers

      and volunteers?

Cyberfair is an international project that involved cooperation with teammates, interview, and research online. The teachers, classmates, seniors, and Director Chi all helped us to complete the project. When we faced problems, our teachers guided and supported us. When someone felt lost, the other teammates would come and help. Seniors provided experiences and opinions for our project, and Director Chi gave us a lot of information about aerial photography.

5.  Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises

After months of researching, we have had a deeper understanding in aerial photography. As we interview Director Po-Lin Chi, we can see his heart full of passion and persistence in aerial photography. He is willing to share his spirit and experiences on chasing his dream. Throughout the process, we learned a lot, such as cooperating with classmate, skills of interviewing, collect and gather information, making websites and modifying pictures. Although there’s not much information on our topic, and we struggled with it, we still came through it. We have asked for advice from Director Chi, teachers, and seniors. Although we were not that good at making websites, our teacher taught us step-by-step until we understand. Without their help, we couldn’t make this happen. This experience is very meaningful for all of us. We’ve been through harsh time, but we solve the problems all together. After all, we want to thank all the people that have helped us and made us grew a lot.
