Thanks to the helps provided by Carefour and local bakeries. Volunteers could gather up either unpleasing or nearly expired foods to restock the fridge. Even though the restaurant doesn’t use outclassed vegetables which were supposed to be thrown out, but they still provides the nutrients needs. There isn’t any foul odors which are produced from the meal. It still provides the basics nutrient and meal that all vegetable does. Still being great and helpful to the community without going to waste.

1. Food sharing restaurant

 

Bookhouse 60 and Carrefour foundation together promoting food sharing plan, the fridge that set outside the restaurant is one of the facility that help to promote this plan. The main purpose to set the fridge is to share edible food to people that has the requirement on food. Carrefour foundation and other bakery near the restaurant are the main provider of the food in the fridge. They provide edible food that are ugly or leftovers from the previous day and give it to staffs to stick the expiration date on it and put it into the fridge. By sharing these food, elders or people that can’t afford the meals would have the chance to eat bread or other food for their meal; Every afternoon, volunteers will put food that had been sort into the fridge. Around 3 to 4 o'clock, many people will line up and wait to get the food. It can be seen that the fridge is very popular in the community, and it can achieve the goal of sharing food. Everyone is welcome to get the food in the fridge, as long as they wait and line up. Inside the restaurant, elders can use the price of $20 NTD to afford the meals. Despite that it can lower the financial pressure for them, it can also achieve the goal to reduce the amount of waste food. “ Share” is the main philosophy of doing these plans, and many people can get the needs that they need. Moreover, they also what to use this as a example to promote this idea. Set other similar organization or food sharing fridge to help more people. And let this food sharing plan to warm more people and places that needs help.

2. Leftovers Fridge

Housebook 60 was originally a place that helped relinquished juveniles to find a purpose in life, but then the coffee classroom received not only was recognized as an International Standard Coffee Examination cite, but also was awarded the British City and Guilds approval, providing the most professional coffee experience and education.

3. Coffee Classroom:

       This is a separate place from Book House 60, recent years, they received the “Keep Walking Dream Supporting Plan” and “Project imagination” First place award. Inside the area, they provide sharing meal and activities area, everyday there will be volunteers to lead the elders to do all kind of activities such as exercise crafting etc, promoting them to go outside and walk, contact with other. Maintain both mental and physical health.

       There are several machines in the are for measuring blood pressure, weight and height. Every elder has one handbook and a card, they will record the data on them, make sure of their body’s health. Mr. Fang designed a watch for elders that can measure their blood pressure and oxygen level, the results will send directly to relatives’ cellphone. This could let the relatives know their health status. This is much better than normal machine because normal machine will only have one record paper, but it is hard to preserve and hard to let the others to their health status. This is much more convenient compare to bring old ones to hospital to check. However this product is still in testing stage, Mr. Fang hopes that this product could be widely used on elders.

        Out of that, the park also provide a learning center for kids that couldn’t go to cram schools some extra instructions. Helping them on learning and their future.

       Fish vegetable recycle is the other facility. Because of the recent Global Climate change is affecting quietly on food and water resources. One of the most clear is the change on temperature, every year the highest temperature is set again. But the Fish Vegetable recycle is not just on producing fish and vegetables, The most important is that using the water for fish recycle them by planting with them, in order to reduce water use, and saves energy. Local produce, local use.

4. Loho Paradise

The story hall is connected with the Taipei library system, citizens could use the personal computer to order the books online. Then the library will transfer the books from other libraries to the Southern Airport life Story Hall, and they can get the books from here. This place had become a local workplace to rent and return the books. For the citizens that lives here, it is a place where they can relax and enjoy reading books; Children and elders in the community will come to the story hall during their spare time to rent books or read in the library. The collection of books in here are also very diverse. Although the story hall isn’t as big as other libraries, but the rate of renting books is the top rate among other libraries in Taipei! This is a very convenient facilities that are set in the Loho Paradise that the citizens could have plentiful resources to use and learn.

5. Southern Airport life stories hall:

The name, “Southern Airport 30 Bank,” is a pun for “food”, “object”, and “time” in Chinese pronunciation. It categorizes the resources then donate to the community or minority groups. There are several ways for the food bank to collect the resources, most of them are nearly expired. For example, neighbors’ donation, markets’ leftovers. They provide various life necessities, snacks and rice. With these methods, the bank shares the resources to all people who have the need.
