As I wrap up my final year participating in CyberFair, I can’t help but feel a mix of gratitude and nostalgia. This competition has been an incredible journey, and working on our project about the circular economy and recycled glass has been yet another rewarding experience. Throughout the years, I’ve learned so much—not just about research and presentation, but also about teamwork, problem-solving, and the impact of environmental sustainability. I’m deeply thankful for my teammates, whose support and dedication have made every challenge feel manageable and every success even more meaningful. We’ve grown together, overcoming obstacles and pushing each other to do our best. Without them, this project wouldn’t have been the same. CyberFair has played a huge role in shaping my perspective, and it’s bittersweet to step away from something that has been such a constant in my life. This competition has given me countless opportunities to explore new topics, refine my skills, and connect with others who share a passion for learning. I also want to express my gratitude to the organizers, whose efforts make this platform possible for students like us. This year’s project has deepened my understanding of sustainability and environmental responsibility, and I will carry these lessons with me beyond the competition. Though it’s time for me to step down, I leave with appreciation, valuable memories, and a heart full of gratitude. Thank you, CyberFair—one final bow before I go.
This project allowed me to expand my understanding of the circular economy and environmental conservation beyond surface-level conceptions, grasping the depths and nuances of recycling, especially regarding its broader implications including economic and societal impact. While the circular economy has always been a familiar term, the research I conducted for the duration of this project enlightened me about the real-life applications of the circular economy and its contribution to eco-friendly products. Despite the small size of Taiwan, I have come to realize the true extent of Taiwan’s contribution to recycling and waste reduction. Whether it be governmental policies, company supply chains, or individual actions, numerous efforts have contributed to the creation of a greener planet, efforts that produced results previously inconceivable to me as an individual. The experiences I gained along the way have reshaped my understanding of sustainability and climate action, allowing me to recognize how concrete efforts are making a difference in a seemingly daunting problem. Through interacting with local recycling businesses, I have the hope of making a footprint of my own in promoting sustainability and advocating for a future without waste.
As an active member of organizations that advocate for sustainability through collaboration and innovation, I have developed a strong understanding of environmental conservation and the circular economy. However, as student-led clubs, we frequently find ourselves struggling to expand our influence in the community. This project, particularly the visit to the factory where we interviewed the manager of a prominent company specializing in recyclable glass, significantly enhanced my awareness of how far we can go in protecting our planet. While touring the factory, I sensed the company’s commitment to designing its layout in a manner that effectively attracts pedestrians and reinforces its core values. For instance, skilled glass artisans work there daily to create appealing designs for capsule toys, aiming to captivate visitors. Additionally, there are DIY sessions that invite passersby to discover how recycling can also be enjoyable. Most notably, during our interview, I observed the manager’s deep passion for the company’s mission, which genuinely motivated me to persevere in my efforts within my sustainability clubs. As a whole, this project offered me valuable insights from an established company on its journey toward fostering environmental sustainability and circular economy. I hope the lessons learned and the inspiration gained will guide me in becoming a more responsible citizen in a world that urgently needs advocates for sustainability.
Even though I joined much later compared to my teammates, being part of the team has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my high school life. This competition has not only allowed me to learn and grow but to also witness the dedication and creativity that define our team. This year, our topic, revolving around Eco Glass, has been just as inspiring as we were taken step by step through the intricate process of heating, shaping, molding, and cooling. It’s fascinating how much effort and precision goes into creating a single piece of glass. As bittersweet as it is to admit, this is our final year of competing in the International Cyberfair, but I'm grateful for every challenge we’ve overcome together, every late-minute brainstorming session. Nevertheless, I'm proud of how far we’ve come along and all that we’ve achieved together as a team.
As cliche as this may sound, I will never forget the experiences of this project. I began our research on the subject of sustainable glass materials, not knowing how stunned I would be the moment I stepped into the glass factory exhibition and saw the glowing molten glass ball with my own eyes. It was as if the light wasn’t just heat, but a beacon of hope for Taiwan’s achievements in sustainability and innovation. Throughout this journey, I not only deepened my understanding of Taiwan’s strides in circular economy practices but also witnessed the dedication, creativity, and hard work that go into achieving sustainability. From seeing discarded glass bottles transformed into beautiful new containers to understanding the intricate processes behind extending material lifespans, I’ve come to appreciate the delicate balance between preserving tradition and fostering innovation when giving something as simple as glass, a brand-new life. The stories behind each recycled product, the passion of those involved in the process, and the tangible impact of these efforts have all left an indelible mark on me, pushing me to reflect on my habits and the small changes I can make to contribute to a greener environment. I’ve realized that sustainability isn’t just about saving resources. It’s about hope, resilience, and the shared responsibility we have toward building a better world. As I move forward, I will carry the lessons and inspiration from this experience with me, striving to make choices and take actions that align with the vision of a brighter, more sustainable future.
This is already my fourth year participating in the International CyberFair, and soon our team will graduate from this contest. Time has flown by! Despite Taiwan's textbooks being far from ideal, I’ve learned so much by exploring knowledge not covered in the curriculum. I’m grateful to be part of our team and to have contributed to our discoveries. It’s been a pleasure participating in the International CyberFair contest, and it has helped me understand what it’s like to be an international student and a member of the global community. Overall, these four years have been a fun and rewarding experience, and I’ve enjoyed it at every glance. Farewell, my global friends from the other side of the internet, it has been an incredible four years with all of you.
With three years of CyberFair experience ahead, I was, at first, very confident and relaxed about this project. However, I didn’t know that this would be the most challenging of all. At the start of the project, we tried to contact the interviewees to confirm our project topic. Unexpectedly, we continued to receive rejections from three companies, which made us severely behind schedule. Fortunately, we were able to successfully contact Spring Pool Glass, and begin drafting our project before December. I enjoyed the trip to the company a lot as it taught me many things about handmade glass products that I did not know. After many years of participating in the CyberFair competition, I feel like what I love the most is my team. Some of us have been working together since 7th grade, and now we are already high school sophomores. We were able to distribute work smoothly and complete our project in a fast paste. They are one of the most important and memorable parts of my school life, and I enjoyed every second of working with them on the project. To me, this year’s project is not only a chance for me to learn about new knowledge, but also a chance that made me realize how precious the people around me are. This is my last CyberFair project. After participating in this competition for four years, I can not express how grateful I am to have the opportunity during the way, and I will never forget every bit of what I learned.
I have participated in Cyberfair for well over 4 years, and I am sad to inform you that this will be my last year. I've been incredibly appreciative of the experiences and lessons I've learned over the past four years. I've developed a variety of skills, particularly in website design, which involves both critical and creative thinking because every element needs both to produce the best possible appearance. It was my favorite year because glass recycling was one of our most interesting topics. Prior to researching this subject, I had often wondered how glass could possibly be recycled. However, the enormous potential that glass recycling could yield quickly proved me wrong. The experience of touring the factory has been fantastic, and it's definitely not something you see every day. I got to observe how glass is made and recycled, how colors are applied to the glasses, and how the founder of Spring Pool Glass overcame all obstacles to establish such a remarkable glass empire. I've been able to learn from my mistakes as the lead website designer this year and produce a far more visually appealing website. For this year's website, I used a variety of animation and CSS coding techniques in addition to drawing influence from previous website designs. Finally, I would like to express appreciation to my team and Cyberfair for these incredible four years, during which I have been able to experiment with various subjects and skills that I had never considered learning.
Once again, participating in Cyberfair this year has been eye-opening for me as it has enhanced my understanding of Taiwan’s efforts to achieve sustainability and the circular economy. Before working on this project, I had a rough idea of how the process of recycling worked but this project exposed me to learn how a reasonable amount of planning and effort goes into making useful materials out of waste products. It was powerful for me on a personal level to get out to the recycling plant because I was able to see the entire process of turning used plastic bottles into raw materials that are ready for use. It was astonishing to see all the details and effort that goes into all these activities. It was also very encouraging to see the multitude of mechanisms in Taiwan that aid in meaningful change from policies to firms, and individual contributions. Displaying cleavages that I did not previously see was the visit to an exhibition that showcased art and products derived from the use of recycled materials. To create the artifacts, the most accessible and frequently used waste materials were purposefully used. In doing so, I was attempting to show the contrast of beauty with function in sustainable work. Every deed, be it as insignificant as it may seem, can create a difference. This project helped change my outlook towards climate change. As I prepare to leave CyberFair, I gauged how this event has helped me understand the undertaking of active global citizenship to make the world a greener place. While this may be the end of my participation in Cyberfair, my efforts in creating innovative approaches and practicing sustainable development are just getting started.
This is my fourth year participating in Cyberfair and I’m glad that I have the chance to explore the topic of the sustainable glass industry. I really enjoy learning new fascinating knowledge and the experiences from the places we’ve visited. The glass exhibitions and the process of producing glass products from the factory we visited really brought great impressions to me! This project allows me to understand more about the sustainable industry in Taiwan, and how the sustainable glasses are produced. I’ve learned the skill of collecting resources, creating questions for surveys, and analyzing skills. I’m able to understand information I couldn’t learn from the text-book, and also be able to apply my critical thinking skills to the project. Although I wasn’t able to finish the job I’m supposed to finish for my team, I still want to apologize and thank all of my teammates. I will never forget all the experiences and every knowledge I have learnt from these years.
