Taiwan’s textile industry is ranked at the top of the worldwide industry. There is about 80% of the textile industry came from Taiwan. However, Taiwan’s textile doesn’t have its own company or brand. Even though, there are some company or brand but there are very least left. Because the process of collecting the trash and making it become a product costs a lot of money. Most companies don’t want to invest in the brand. However, there is a company named Deya.
Deya’s original intention is to let the world see Taiwan’s brand, hoping everyone in this society has a bag to achieve their dream. Inside every Deya bag, there is a label for customers to write down their dreams. Deya was inspired by an image of a sea turtle being stuck by plastic straws, in addition, a lot of sea animals are harmed by the serious pollution that puts their habitat in danger. After establishing Deya, they hope the environment for the marine animals will become safer and more comfortable.
Company Founding Journey
There were a lot of companies that didn’t want to invest in deeper recycling. Therefore, it was so unpopular that while inventing this brand, we also invested a lot of money. At that time, the Taiwan government didn’t want to help in this program because they thought that it might fail and lose a lot of money. The marine trash was really hard to collect, the process may be complex and it may cost a lot of money. However, people could notice the importance of recycling. Eventually, the goal of Deya was that they want to let people notice the importance of recycling and take actual action to stop harming the marine environment.
