     The Atayals’ weaving loom is called “lateral back-strap weaving loom”, the weaver pushes and releases to adjust the tension of the warps. The loom contains a warped case, fix rod, warp thread divider, heddle rod, wooden beater, pick rod, cloth beam, shuttle, and nack strap, using these basic set of tools, warp stabling, weft beating, shed forming, etc, can be done. In earlier lives, the Atayal men search for the wooden tools’ materials like logs and wood, to make a set of tools for their daughter, and there’s even a rule limiting in the process of making the looms, not other men besides one’s father can touch the loom, if a man touches it then the whole weaving tool needs to be remade.
