Project Introduction:

Mr. Xsing Taizhao, the main prosecutor of Taiwan’s legal system, serves to protect the citizens of Taiwan under the laws of Taiwan. As our group gets to understand Mr. Xing Taizhao more, we also explore the roles of a prosecutor and the legal system in Taiwan as many of the people don’t understand how it works. After research and interviews, our team noticed what it is like to view the legal system in Taiwan from the top prosecutor’s perspective.

Motivation:

A legal system is what makes the citizens of a country safe, and it guarantees the rights and safety of each individual under the laws of Taiwan. However, not many of the people who live under the protection of laws understand how the legal system works. One of the keys to a safe and stable country is the prosecutors. Through them, the legal system is balanced, this is why people need to understand how the system works and what exactly is the work of a prosecutor.

Project Summary:

The system of public procuration exists to balance the powers of judges and to ensure the objectivity of the court. The prosecutors act as supervisors to maintain a just legal system; in this project, our team interviewed the present head of Taiwan's Higher Prosecutors' Office, Mr. Xsing Taizhao to understand his career and his view on Taiwan's procuration system. The team conducted research on Mr. Xsing's accomplishments further understand the importance of the procuration system through the information provided by Xsing , providing us a different perspective regarding the procuration system.

Research Method:

Our team used sociological qualitative study’s interview method and literature analysis method to finish the project’s basic structure. Targeting the project’s core, our team interviewed the project’s key figure. Through the process of interviewing, we got first-hand information and records; applied these information and records, cross-referenced the relevant literature and information collected, and corrected the unknown or known but incomplete information in the current research topic.

In addition, in order to have a clearer understanding of the familiarity and relevance of the research subjects or content in the society we live in, we have used the statistical method of questionnaires in sociological quantitative research, and widely distributed online questionnaires with a duration of about six months. Weekly, about 217 questionnaires were collected and analyzed to reinforce and examine the viewpoints obtained from the qualitative research used above, forming a relatively objective mixed-type research result.

However, we do not have enough responses to the questionnaire, this became a limitation to our research expansion, we were only able to analyze those limited responses. Nevertheless, these responses have sufficient help with objective research to our project, we have a certain degree of understanding of the public's common sense cognition of this special research topic, it also helps us to the unexplained phenomena and inadequacies of the analysis in our research process.
