Participating in CyberFair for the second time has been a completely different experience compared to my first. Back in sixth grade, we were guided step by step, which made the process smooth and straightforward. However, joining again in eighth grade brought a new level of responsibility and independence. This time, we divided tasks based on each team member’s strengths, which made the work more manageable and enjoyable. It was fascinating to dive deeper into a topic that connects our local community to global challenges, all while working together as a team. This year, our project focused on Laiwa Company, a green business that connects with innovation and sustainability. CyberFair provided us with an opportunity to let the world know about the impact we can bring to the world around us. This experience has encouraged me to keep exploring solutions that connect to global challenges, with the hope of contributing to a more sustainable future.
I joined CyberFair with one year of experience in sixth grade and experienced all types of ways research could be done. However, joining CyberFair in eighth grade is another story. We had to conduct research and structure websites all on our own without much teacher guidance. At first, our team was overwhelmed by the workload and time pressure; however, we managed to discuss our topics fast and efficiently. I see CyberFair as a chance to learn more about our people, community, and environment, and how all those aspects can connect to our individual lives. This year, we selected a topic that digs into business and environmental awareness - Rejuvenating Agricultural Waste. In Taiwan, agriculture is one of our strengths, but this industry generates a lot of waste. Laiwa Company is an organization that conducts the creation of eco-friendly products made from waste. Being able to learn about this topic taught me how small things around me create a positive, lasting impact on the world. Although the team was puzzled about what to work on, and the process wasn't the most productive, we still managed to complete our research.
For the first time participating in a cyber fair, I began the project with nearly no involvement in the team. I’ve learned to communicate with various types of people, especially with the CEO of the Laiwa co-leader, the co-leader of the team. I tend to be in charge of more affairs and take responsibility for the project. I also learned ways to interview a CEO. Since we collaborated to complete the project, I think it’s a fabulous opportunity to express my opinion and listen to others’ applications. Overall, it’s been a great year in CyberFair and I appreciate having the chance to cooperate with all the members who were involved in the project.
Participating in the CyberFair for the first time as an eighth-grade student was both an exciting and challenging experience. At first, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but as we began working on our project, I realized how much effort and dedication it required. Researching our topic helped me develop critical thinking skills while collaborating with my teammates taught me the value of teamwork and effective communication. Moreover, my ability to organize information and present it clearly and engagingly is also enhanced. Most importantly, I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to something meaningful, and I look forward to applying what I have learned in this project.
This is my first time joining CyberFair, and I have no experience before until 8th grade, therefore CyberFair is a fresh thing to me. In the project, we research the topic, then write a letter and interview the company about the questions we have set, after the interview, we start writing the website. This semester, all of these experiences I mention on top, make me learn more. For example, I have learned to communicate with my team and teacher to complete the project, I also learned how to write surveys and even know how to interview and choose the topics of CyberFair. In addition, I know how to research from different websites to complete different parts of our project, and this also helps my other subjects in school, such as science, which can help me research more about the work the teacher assigns. Last, I have gained more knowledge about Taiwan and our own cultures from the project, to learn more about our green energy technologies. Overall, I have learned a lot of things. All of the things I learn, can not only help my other subjects, but it also helps my project when I am in 9th and 10th grade, which can make me better at not only my personal project but also the Cyberfair project in the future.
I've never participated in CyberFair before, but my sister did a year before me, and she won a Platinum, giving me the motivation to join and get the prize as well; therefore, I joined this year. In the project, I am the group leader who contacts people for interviews and further research for our group. Through this process, I learned a lot about communicating with others, especially with the CEO of the company. We not only found an available time for each student and the company, but we also had an amazing interview with the CEO. I also learned how to conduct and lead the team well with work distribution and assigning work according to everyone's strengths. Through thorough planning and discussions, our group managed to complete research and writing together. I am also the team leader for our CyberFair team; therefore, I earned lots of leadership experiences and communicating skills. I not only introduce my homeland to the world but, I also gained more knowledge about Taiwan, making this year's CyberFair extremely valuable.
This is my first year as a member of the CyberFair team, and I started with no prior experience. Working with experienced teammates, I’ve learned how to contribute effectively to this project. Our first step was selecting a topic and choosing a company. Fortunately, we successfully contacted Laiwa Company early on, which gave us more time to prepare. Laiwa Company focuses on recycling waste to create new products, and their design concepts have been inspiring to me, protecting Earth and practicing it. During the interview, I was responsible for taking notes on the CEO’s responses. This process has helped me improve my ability to find key information. Additionally, organizing survey responses and planning the website’s structure enhanced my organizational skills. Overall, this experience has been valuable. I'm thrilled to be part of this project, as it has not only allowed me to learn new knowledge but also allowed me to introduce Taiwan to the world through our website.
To me, CyberFair was not simply a project like many others at school, but rather a valuable academic journey—one that allowed me to delve deeply into all facets of a thorough investigation and untie the ribbons of the gifts of knowledge. When I first joined the group, I genuinely felt like this mostly autodidact project was like a vast ocean, with no maps nor compasses to lead the way. Under the guidance of instructors and experienced members as well as some thorough research, however, I was able to acquire a clear understanding of the goals and processes in addition to assimilating the project’s step-by-step procedure outline. It was then the thrilling adventure of conducting research, planning and practically participating in interviews, before collecting data and composing the website commenced. It is undoubtedly worth it to embark on such a journey, and I am looking forward to thriving in the next and all following years.
This is my first time participating in Cyberfair, and I had little knowledge of how the system works. However, as I participated in various activities and discussions, I gained a deep understanding of teamwork. Through this experience, I developed communication skills, allowing me to engage effectively with people. For instance, we contacted the CEO of Laiwa early in the process. Although I focused on writing questions, I also learned valuable skills including time management and clear communication with my teammates. Thus, Cyberfair cooperates, teaches us valuable skills, and gets to know cultures from different worlds.
This is my first time participating in Cyber Fair, and I started with no relevant experience. I was inspired by a friend who participated in the Cyber Fair in Sixth grade and won a Platinum, which gave me the motivation to join and get prizes. Through this project, I learned about our community, people, and environment, and how d to communicate with different types of people, including the CEO of Laiwa and my teammates. Despite facing numerous challenges initially, such as topic selection, we still complete the project with effective collaboration. Additionally, Cyber Fair provides us the opportunity to introduce Taiwan to the world with our website. Overall, the experience of participating was valuable, as it not only allowed me to gain knowledge about my community but also improved my social skills and academic skills.
