What We Learned

From this research, we employed quantitative and qualitative analysis simultaneously, not only did we gain insight on data collection and interpretation, we delved into a business’ background through an in-depth interview. At first, we spent six weeks collecting society’s understanding of environmental conservation topics via an online survey. Based on the data and responses, we examined the possible factors which impacted common perceptions regarding the topic, relating back to our investigated and researched facts, revealing the limitations of the survey, thus concluding the survey process by supporting our predetermined societal trends. In addition, we personally interviewed a local business promoting environmental conservation and sustainable economies. With our collected data and researched information, we presented evidence to support the company’s beliefs, highlighting the significance of fact checking and data organization during an investigation. Above all, this research process offered us an opportunity to further our understanding of circular economy and its applications in the current market.

Our Role as
Ambassadors and
Spokespersons

Whilst completing our project, in addition to our deepened understanding on environmental conservation, we expanded the public awareness regarding the topic as we discussed the issue with professionals in the field highlighting its significance. The video of our interview is uploaded onto Youtube, enabling public access to professional sustainable environment topics. Moreover, this opportunity provided us with a chance to engage with our fellow classmates, actively discussing the pros and cons of circular economy, analyzing its feasibility, raising the overall awareness on environmental conservation and future possibilities of circular economy.

Our Impact on Society

After this project, we each increased our awareness and understanding of environmental protection and the circular economy, implementing our knowledge into our website for a wider range of people to access. Throughout our investigation, we interviewed local businesses promoting environmental conservation, along with our survey analyzing Taiwanese people’s understanding regarding the topic, organizing our findings on our website for browsing. Our final website provides the audience information on local sustainable businesses and the growing market of circular economy, increasing awareness and promoting protective measures. To the public, they acquire knowledge on the issues the Taiwan environment is facing; To the businesses, they gain insight to the developments of the circular economy and its future trends. As more people access our website and knowledge, not only does the overall society increase in environmental conservation awareness, it strengthens the bonds between Taiwanese communities.
