Q1: Why do you want to work in mountaineering medicine?
A1: Doctor Wang Shihao likes to climb mountains and works as a doctor, so he wants to combine his interests with his profession. Another reason is because many people have medical needs in mountaineering, so he participated in mountain rescue.
Q2: What motivation encourages you to give up your high salary and turn to investing in Alpine Healthcare?
A2: Dr. Wang thinks that he is stupid and hasn't thoroughly thought about it. He thinks that he shouldn't give up the work of the hospital doctor in the beginning. He should reduce the clinical time by one third to do alpine medicine.
Q3: hen quitting a high-paying job, did your family object or support? Did you regret this choice?
A3: At that time, I resigned to go to the United States to study, so my family was very supportive, and Dr. Wang also brought his family to the United States. He was also very happy to have such a special opportunity, so he did not regret it.
Q4: Have you encountered any difficulties in the process of entrepreneurship and promotion?
A4: Dr. Wang believes that when promoting alpine medical treatment, there are issues in demand. People may not want this service, because many people check the information online by themselves, and do not seek professional advice. But such a half-understood situation will lead to more dangers. One example is that many people often mistake Viagra as an antidote to mountain sickness, but in fact Viagra does not help with all mountain sicknesses. Therefore, Dr. Wang believes that public education is extremely important. He believes that the most difficult thing is to turn demand into a source of customers. Dr. Wang himself knows that doing charity in Taiwan is not a good thing. Therefore, the fund is also a problem he faces. Fortunately, the PAC project has been donated by others, and the help of Kang Chiao International School is also great.
Q5: How long have you been engaged in mountain rescue activities? Did you learn anything?
A5: Dr. Wang has joined the mountaineering club since the second year of college. He has more than 20 years of mountaineering experience, but he believes that mountaineering itself is not a very fun thing, and even a little boring since it's exhausting. Dr. Wang feels that walking safely to the top of the mountain with his companions is a matter of accomplishment. Not only can they cultivate feelings for each other in the process, but also learn from each other. Although the process is tiring, it is worthwhile.
Dr. Wang said that he has gained a lot in the process of mountaineering, learned a lot of new knowledge, and gained some life experiences. In the early days, people had to prepare all by themselves to climb. From arranging equipment to finding a way to obtaining a license. During the process, they faced many difficulties, but thanks to such training, they learnt a lot.
Q6: When was the current team established?
A6: Taiwan wild area emergency rescue team: Taiwan wild area emergency rescue team was established in December 2013. Its members include nurses, doctors and people who like to climb mountains. This team is responsible for the construction of pressurized cabins and field courses.
Shanyun Baipao: Shanyun Baipao Health Consultant Co., Ltd. was established at the end of 2016 to accompany mountaineers of all ages. Now more than 50 volunteers continue to assist the people of Taiwan to climb to Baiyue in Taiwan.

Q7: Do you want to expand your team? If so, how do you choose the people in your team? What are the standards?
A7: Dr. Wang has repeatedly stated that the expansion of the team is based on the needs of the public. For example, the support for the school ’s dream mountaineering activities nowadays. With the increase of Kangqiao ’s campus, more and more students will join, just one campus will increase With nearly 3000 students, it may be necessary to increase the number of students.
Dr. Wang believes that everyone who joins the team must agree to do this thing, have a common belief, and know that this matter is difficult. The most important thing is to have some enthusiasm for the implementation of these high mountain medicines. It is he who chooses the team The most important criterion.
Q8: How did you introduce PAC pressurized cabin?
A8: The PAC pressurized cabin is a plastic chamber, 200cm long and 85cm in diameter. The principle of the pressurized cabin is to step on the inflator with a foot and not use any electricity to fill the pressurized cabin. After the gas explosion, the pressure will rise, simulating the pressure below the mountain. Take the Sanjiao Mountain Villa at 3100 meters on the snow mountain as an example. The pressurized cabin can reduce the pressure by 1600 meters above sea level, that is, rise to a pressure of 1500 meters above sea level. The advantage of the pressurized cabin is that it can be reused without additional use of electricity.
Q9: How to determine the set point of the pressurized cabin?
A9: Dr. Wang believes that the most ideal setting location is to be able to get everything done in one go. It is his goal to achieve the highest effectiveness with the least amount. Dr. Wang will place all the places where the pressurized cabin can be placed, including all places more than 3000 meters in the sightseeing area, the township and town firefighting search and rescue team in the high mountain area (each unit is placed) and the air crew have pressurized cabins. . At present, there are about 60 more than 70 pressurized cabins in Taiwan, and the remaining 30 are for educational purposes. Let everyone personally experience and operate, and be familiar with the process of pressurized cabins.
Q10: Has there been any danger in moving the pressurized cabin? What kind of difficulties or dangers have occurred?
A10: The handling process is very difficult. Many mountain houses are very far away, but the harder it is to place, the more pressurized cabins are needed, because the more difficult roads will cause unsuitable retreat, so the demand for pressurized cabins will be higher. The most difficult thing is Mabo traversing, it takes 12 days to set up the pressurized cabin, and it also needs to find 6-8 people, or even 10 people to carry. The transportation time can only choose a stable season, from September to November, because there is a typhoon in summer, there is a rainy season in spring, and the weather in winter is very unstable. However, September-November was the busiest time for most companies. Many volunteers could not take time off, so in the end, Dr. Wang asked the Air Force to help move up the mountain and dispatched 6 seagull helicopters. Six people shortened the original 12-day trip to 3 days. Walking from 8 am to 9:30 pm every day was very tiring, but finally successfully completed the placement plan of Mabo's cross-pressurized cabin.
Q11: How many people have you saved so far? How many were saved in pressurized cabins?
A11: It is determined that the pressurized cabin has rescued 12 people, including patients with pulmonary edema and cerebral edema. Before the pressurized cabin is set up, any patient who gets sick at night must wait for 12 hours, because the helicopter cannot enter the mountain in Wangshan; climatic factors also lead to a longer rescue time for the helicopter and cannot make the patient evacuate immediately. But with the pressurized cabin, the patient can stand until the next day and then withdraw will not endanger life safety.
Q12: What is the most difficult situation in mountain rescue?
A12: The most feared situation in mountain rescue is that the victims cannot seek help from the outside world. Therefore, Dr. Wang emphasized that he must maintain good communication when climbing, and called on everyone to carry communication equipment with them. Make sure that you have a mobile phone or satellite phone or Radio, and inform family members or acquaintances before mountain climbing, and also clearly know where you are during the mountain climbing process to ensure the safety of mountain climbing. If unfortunately something happens during the mountain climbing, the rescue team can also help more quickly.
Q13: What do you think is the most important thing for mountaineering?
A13: Dr. Wang believes that a healthy state and a responsible attitude are very important, because a healthy state can avoid the uncomfortable symptoms when climbing, and when the mentality is right, you will be well prepared before climbing. Dr. Wang feels that the correct attitude is not to ignore the mountain. It must be assumed in advance that the mountain is very fierce, and must be in awe, so as not to do too reluctant things, so as to avoid accidents.
Q14: What channels did you use to get the help you need?
A14: At that time, the places where the pressurized cabins were set were often places where people needed to be rescued. Therefore, helicopters often needed to exercise nearby to save people. Therefore, the pressurized cabins were set up to match the training mission of the Air Force. It was just at the end of 2018 that there was a training task that could be performed with the pressurized cabin setting, so the pressurized cabin could be placed smoothly. The Air Force also believes that this mission is very worthwhile, because without the installation of a pressurized cabin, the Air Force will have more pressure, or even barely fly to save people, but with the pressurized cabin, you can wait until the weather improves If they fly again, they will be very helpful.
Q15: If there are more abundant resources, what would you want to strengthen?
A15: Any part that needs to be strengthened depends on the needs of the people, because the services provided by Dr. Wang are basically closely related to the needs of the people. Dr. Wang also realizes that resources are very valuable, so he believes that the most important thing is to spend resources on the edge of the knife, not to waste resources in unnecessary places.
Q16: What problems do students most often encounter during climbing?
A16: The purpose of student mountaineering is to learn during mountain climbing. The most common condition encountered by Dr. Wang is mountain sickness, that is, students often play tricks and do not want to continue climbing. At this time, Dr. Wang will encourage them to continue the journey. Dr. Wang and the children get along and encourage each other, and they also get different experiences from the students.
Q17: With the development of technology, do you have to consider introducing other technologies to help promote your team and rescue activities?
A17: Nowadays, due to the development of the Internet and the extensive data of the people, many people think that they can do a full preparation by checking the information online before climbing, but Dr. Wang believes that medical treatment is very personal and requires people to see the doctor in person. Because science and technology can only solve the knowledge transfer, and the medication, diagnosis and treatment are customized, it may be that the same case, the medication will vary from person to person, so the medical knowledge cannot be integrated, and Dr. Wang encourages everyone to do it before climbing. Consult your doctor for safer mountaineering.
Q18: In addition to the mountain rescue, do you have other career plans?
A18: Dr. Wang believes that in addition to the rescue in high mountains, the most important thing is to make money to support the family and accompany the children to grow up.
