In the beginning of September 2021, nine of us decided to join in the CyberFair club. With the enthusiasm in participating the CyberFair club, our team, nine of Taiwanese senior high students formed into a group to dig for a deeper sight about the Taiwan community. Although we are from three different homerooms and never worked together before, we surprisingly cooperate well together under the guide of our instructors, Bear Shaw, and Wings Peng. The well team work and strong motivation make our project went smoothly.
This is my third time participating in the World CyberFair competition. I first joined this club in seventh grade because of a friend’s recommendation. I was unfamiliar with the competition at the time, and it was only with the help of senior upperclassmen, did we receive a platinum award. Even though the results were distinctive, I feel I haven’t learned much after a year at the club. Feeling disappointed and discouraged, I wanted to quit. In the end, I decided to try for another year after discussing it with my parents. Now having 2 years of experience, I was much more confident and even offered help to new students when I could. I am grateful to be working with my team, developing numerous skills. Including making easy-to-comprehend questionnaires, data analysis, and most importantly teamwork. I hope we could still achieve excellent placements this year once again, committing to the World CyberFair competition.
CyberFair, in my definition, used to be a club with omniscient students that always stood on the podium and received the honor during the assembly. I never got involved in any of the academic research activities before, I was always at the periphery. However, after attending the club, I found out the club does deserve its reputation. CyberFair drives me to keep in touch with current social issues and improve my academic performance. Throughout the semester, our team investigates the Happy Work organization and focuses on what we currently can do to create a better environment for the disabled. Unexpectedly, I also discovered extended issues. For example, many minders will suffer from psychological collapse after taking care of the disabled. Even though the government doesn’t cover these medical expenses, our promotion will surely spread the donation to provide financial aid for disabled’s families. Besides, I also begin to organize the research information efficiently, gathering and analyzing data play an important role during the research. It is worth mentioning that I become more familiar when collaborating with unfamiliar people. These experiences assist me a lot in further group projects. I am glad to have the opportunity to participate in the CyberFair. It is an honor to promote our country’s culture to the world. I am looking forward to next year's CyberFair!
This year is my first opportunity to join the CyberFair, and I enjoy being a member of it. Engaging in this club is a rare opportunity, and I learned a lot. During the process, I attempted several new tries, such as conducting questionnaires with unfamiliar people. This is a significant step forward. No matter how timid your personality, you must try your best to ask questions and complete the questionnaire. You'll also have to phone each respondent to see whether they're available and come up with a list of questions to ask. These efforts have helped us to gain experience while also making me believe there is no such thing as impossible. Besides the skills I learned, members also investigated Happy Work, an organization that assists the disabled. Before examining the group, I seldom get in touch with disabled' information. I learned more about society through working on this project. Furthermore, I notice how the government and organizations are assisting the disabled. I discovered that I have lots of potential once I conduct the project, and I truly became stronger.
This is my first time attending CyberFair, which I derive much benefit from. During the end of 8th grade, I was deciding the club I am going to attend next semester. At the same time, my teacher encouraged me to participate in CyberFair. Throughout this semester, we investigate Happy Work, the organization assisting the disabled. Before investigating the organization, I was rarely in touch with the information of the disabled. By doing this project, I learned more about the current society. Moreover, I understand the ways the current government and organizations are helping the disabled. Apart from the information of the organizations, I also learned to collaborate with my teammates, improve my skills of researching on the internet, and organize information efficiently. However, this project would be even more challenging without my group members. Within this semester, the teammates helped me with multiple aspects, including gathering information and also writing the questions. Therefore, I am thankful to not only the teacher but also the group members. Overall, this experience helped me to improve myself in multiple categories, making me willing to join the club again.
This is my second time participating in CyberFair, which I am more experienced compared to my first-time project making. As I have more experience, the overall flow of researching information, gathering data, and organizing the data results become more fluent and efficient. Throughout this project, I also learn to collaborate and communicate with my teammates. We have several new people joining our team, where we have to do the project. In the meantime, it is our job to assist these teammates to adapt to the environment and achieve our goals together. For our project this time, we investigated the local service organization that assists the disabled, making me reflect on myself, thinking about what I can do for my surroundings to create a better environment for every citizen. I appreciate that I have this opportunity to work with diverse people, put in the time and effort to promote our local service organization and improve skills that are essential to our life. I have such an excellent experience that makes me willing to engage in more CyberFair activities in the future.
This is the second year I attended CyberFair and I still learned a lot from this experience. As this is my second time, I’m better at gathering data, arranging information, writing web pages, making surveys, and more. However, I still learned from the experiment as we still faced several problems like the organizations are not that cooperative, some information is hard to find, and we have to make sure the information will not offend any people. Another skill I learned is to cooperate with my teammates. As an old member of this project, I need to teach the new members. This teaches me how to express myself and to help others when needed. Also this time, the topic of our project is an organization that helps the disabled. From researching happy work organizations, I learned how the disabled are treated in Taiwan and now what problems they face. This helped me learn more about the disabled and the Taiwan community. Moreover, most of the time we won’t understand much about the disabled, but with this experience, I know more, I understand that many times disabled are discriminated against and looked down upon, and many of the time we can help them however others are not willing to. Therefore, from now on, I know that I can put more effort into helping them and the Taiwan community.
This year is my first time attending CyberFair. In the beginning, CyberFair to me was only a simple club about making websites that introduced the culture in Taiwan. As I collaborated more into this club, I found CyberFair is much more than I thought. Despite the skills such as collaboration skills and gathering information, I found CyberFair particularly training the data gathering and analysis skills. For our group, the survey was one way we gathered data. However, we faced the issue of having insufficient results. As a solution, we plunked up our courage to contact people around us to fill out the survey. Through this process, I improved my collaboration skills by participating in the group to help gather more data. Additionally, I improved my data gathering skills by asking different groups of people to fill out the survey. Overall, participating in CyberFair club improved my skills in different categories.
World CyberFair, a global competition more than just competition, I learned that not everyone can have a chance to work together for this but when I get the opportunity then I hold it tight. CyberFair benefits me a lot, including the improvement of my communication skills and critical thinking since we discuss a lot. Although we sometimes might have conflicts with each other because our opinions are different, we still overcome all the issues together. This is my first year joining the CyberFair, my teammates helped me to enter it smoothly and catch on to progress. Through investigating online sources, I learn how the government helps those disabled people to overcome their disadvantages, surveys help me understand how people treated those disabled, and with the actual interview I notice how the organizations assist those disabled. In conclusion, it’s an honor to help others and present our own culture to the world, I’m looking forward to next year’s CyberFair.
From the moment I chose to join the CyberFair club until today, when we are actively engaged in study and competition, I have never regretted my decision. To me, the CyberFair competition is more than just a competition; it's an opportunity to learn more about our culture and share what I've learned with the rest of the world. As a particular year with Covid-19 wreaking havoc on the planet, it poses obstacles in our study progress. This pandemic, however, did not dampen our enthusiasm for finishing the investigation. As a first-time participant, this tournament is a whole new game for me. Both older and new team members can swiftly assume their positions thanks to collaboration and discussions. The flow of this club follows a certain research pattern which, by the way, teaches us a variety of capabilities, such as communication, teamwork, and the bravery to call our target organization. This year of studies centered on Happy Work and the Disabled, implying how I should make an effort to care for and assist this portion of our society. In the future, I am looking forward to continuing to participate in this CyberFair club and discovering more about our culture.
