Categories of Disability Kinds

Category 1: Nervous system structure and mental and mental functions (intellectually impaired, vegetative, dementia, autistic, chronic mentally ill, intractable epilepsy). 
Category 2: Eyes, ears and related structures, sensory functions, and pain (visually impaired, hearing impaired, balance impaired). 
Category 3: The structure and function of sound and speech (people with voice and language dysfunction) 
Category 4: The structure and function of the circulation, hematopoietic, immune, and respiratory systems (for those with loss of function of vital organs: heart, hematopoietic function, respiratory organs). 
Category 5: Digestion, metabolism, and endocrine system-related structures and functions (loss of vital organs: swallowing function, stomach, intestine, liver). Category 6: Related structures and functions of the urinary and reproductive system (loss of vital organs: kidneys, bladder). 
Category 7: The movement-related structures and functions of nerves, muscles, and bones (people with physical disabilities). 
Category 8: Skin and related structures and functions (people with facial injuries).

Disabled Adults

            People whose mental age of adulthood is between six and nine years old, and under the supervision and guidance of others, are only able to take care of themselves and can engage in unskilled work (such as working in sheltered factories) under the protection of others, and cannot live by themselves.

How to be qualified as a “disabled adult”?

Economic capacity and conditions:

            For any adult, work is important. People gain economic ability through work, acquire social roles and social interactions, and their work also enables them to demonstrate their responsibility and commitment to the family. All these are important to adulthood. The mentally handicapped friends are facing the challenge of not being able to work daily.

Community participation:

            After leaving the education stage, everyone begins to enter a more autonomous generation stage. Whether it is to use productive economic activities to obtain a certain labor remuneration or to assist at home and seek a more independent life, it is human nature. People also naturally move from biological human to social human role, and from a single social role to the coexistence of multiple social roles. However, the situation of adult friends with mental disabilities in the past may not be as expected for other adult friends.
