Experience

  • Born in Taipei City in 1964, he has been in contact with and fell in love with photography since high school.
  • Since 1988, he has successively served as a commercial photography assistant and magazine report photographer.
  • After serving the public office in 1990, he began to be responsible for aerial photography of the construction process of various major projects in Taiwan.
  • 1998 Published aerial photographs in the geographical magazine "Earth"
  • 1999 Released the aerial photography album "Looking at Home from Above and Below"
  • 2003 Received the first Johnnie Walker "Keep Walking Fund Dream Grant Project"
  • In 2005, he served as the spokesperson for the mission of "Flying Eye Hospital" by the Orbis Foundation in Xinjiang, and went to Xinjiang to participate in the mission of saving blindness. He also held an outdoor photography exhibition "Taiwan from above and below - Taiwan Land Story Video Exhibition" at the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall.
  • In 2009, Taiwan Abu Film Company was established to prepare the documentary "Seeing Taiwan". Participated in the Taiwan Cultural and Creative Foundation's "Plus and minus 2 degrees C flying over Taiwan" aerial photography exhibition
  • 2011 Participated in the image advertisement of "Think·Fly Taiwan Free Your Mind" on public TV, and won the 46th Golden Bell Awards Channel Advertising Award
  • In 2012, he won the Special Contribution Award of the 4th Academic Award. And held the "Flying Taiwan Aerial Environmental Image Exhibition" at the National Taiwan Science Education Center.   • In 2013, "Seeing Taiwan" was released, with a total Taiwan box office of 220 million, and won the Best Documentary Award at the 50th Golden Horse Awards. "Flying Over Taiwan National Park" won the Gold Medal Award at the 46th Houston International Film Festival in the United States. Published the book "My Heart, My Eyes, Seeing Taiwan: Led Zeppelin's 20 Years of Persistence and Affection".
  • In 2014, "Seeing Taiwan'' won the Golden Sun Award at the 21st International Green Film Festival, the Special Jury Award for Feature-Length Documentary at the 47th Houston International Film Festival, and the Gold Medal Award for Photography. "Flying Over Taiwan National Park'' won the Best Asian Film Award at the 7th ART&TUR International Tourism Film Festival.
  • The 2013 documentary "Beyond Beauty: Taiwan from Above" was released. In addition to setting the highest box office in the history of Taiwanese documentaries, it also sparked discussions among the government, the general public and the media on Taiwan's environmental protection issues.
  • Director Chi has published many aerial photography albums such as "Island Sonata" and "Taiwan from the Sky", and is responsible for more than 300,000 publications of aerial photography images
  • On June 10, 2017, when preparing for the filming of the sequel of "Beyond Beauty: Taiwan from Above II", Director Chi and his assistant Chen Guanqi were unfortunately killed in a helicopter aerial shooting mission.

2004 “Our Land Our Story”

This book presents the most authentic cultural landmarks, natural landscapes, land composition and special events in Taiwan from the four chapters of "Humanistic Images", "Scenic Landscapes", "Earth Competition", and "Historical Light and Shadow". Let people rediscover the land and stories we don't know through wonderful aerial angle photos.

2006 “Taiwan From Above”

From the landscapes of mountains, oceans, lakes, rivers, forests, rice fields, fish farms, cities, etc., we can see the changes, destruction and harm caused by people's development, which is so beautiful in Taiwan. The land has accumulated a series of scars. In series, we turned into birds, saw Taiwan together, and saw the beauty and sadness of this island together. The ocean has deposited layers of pollution, but we also see various environments facing the lead actor Wu Nianzhen " through each photograph of Director Chi.

2013 ”Beyond Beauty: Taiwan from Above”

For more than ten years, Director Chi has flown in a helicopter in the vast sky from 300 to 14,000 feet, and has shot nearly 300,000 images of Taiwan with different faces. Taiwan has experienced unspeakable land pains, the September 21 earthquake, the August 8th typhoon. Our homeland is very beautiful, but it is also very fragile.

2015 “Island Sonata”

Director Chi, who reads Taiwan in the air, composes a movement with the theme of the island through countless pictures, and shows Taiwan's environmental atmosphere, living conditions, landscape changes, etc. through a keen lens. Various chapters in the book are also Zeppelin's confession of the land of Taiwan.
