Plans

1. Digital archiving:

100,000 aerial films, 500,000 digital photos, and nearly an hour of aerial video —— Director Chi Po-lin utilizes his camera lens as the voices of the land and the environment. Through the use of digital databases, image processing, locating, filtering, advanced scanning, repairing, and color correction, the Chi Po-lin Foundation demonstrates the geography, culture, and environment changes of Taiwan.

Benefit of application

Showcase Advocacy:

Showcase Taiwan to the world through official websites, social media, online photography exhibitions, and others. Representative exhibitions include "Restore Taiwan" in collaboration with the Taiwan Environmental Information Association in 2021, and the digital archival exhibition "iTaiwan8: A Flight Through Taiwan" in 2022.

Academic Research:

Track the changes in Taiwan's environment through aerial perspective, comparison, and verification. For example, it documents the geographical evolution and greening process of Guandu Island after the 921 earthquake over the course of 11 years.

Crossover Collaboration:

Collaborate with cultural and creative businesses, installation art, and advertising materials to spread the beauty of Taiwan. For example, the "Reduce Carbon Story Wear" collaboration with Story Wear raises awareness of ocean pollution and promotes a zero-waste, environmentally-friendly fashion.

2. Environmental education:

Benefit of application

The Base Camp:

Cooperating with FamilyMart, the Chi Po-lin Foundation successfully invited 10,000 children to the only one aerial filming environmental education base camp in Taiwan, which is the “Chi Po-lin Space”, within 5 years.

Beyond Beauty Presentation in Campuses:

Having FamilyMart’s coin-donation and support, the documentary “Beyond Beauty: Taiwan From Above” was shown for free and lectures were set up on campuses to educate students about their homeland.

Lecture on flying across Taiwan and discovering one's hometown:

The Chi Po-lin Foundation has partnered with FamilyMart to launch the "Flying Across Taiwan and Discovering One's Hometown" lecture series, exploring 22 counties and communities throughout Taiwan.

Environmental Taiwan Campus Promotion Project

Combine the images directed by Chi Po-lin with education to develop teaching plans.
Connect corporate resources with schools all over to promote the program through alliance division of labor.
Provide digital teaching materials and theme exhibitions.
Starting from 2021, the "Little Chi Po-lin - Beyond Beauty School Broadcasting Project" opens 92 screenings of the documentary "Beyond Beauty: Taiwan from Above" or the shorter film "Beyond Beauty Taiwan 2.0" in schools every year. Through the lens of Director Chi Po-lin, children rediscover Taiwan with innovative perspectives. In addition, environmental subject teachers will also be invited to share and lead children to think about environmental issues and promote environmental protection actions.

Beyond Beauty Plan

The Chi Po-lin Foundation hopes to carry on with the power of Director Chi Po-lin’s “Beyond Beauty: Taiwan From Above” by utilizing his remaining materials and tools to continuing record Taiwan’s beauty, creating new documentaries of Taiwan’s environments, and continuing to promote Taiwan’s beauty to the world while spreading awareness of environmental issues.
In 2020, the foundation first released the unexposed aerial footage of director Chi Po-lin, and re-edit it as “Beyond Beauty: Taiwan From Above 2.0,” thus thanking every Taiwanese who withstand the pandemics and encourage everyone to find the power in times of changes.
In 2020, the foundation participate in “Taiwan Association for Marine Environmental Education (TAMEE)” “Suhua coast five days and four nights walking tour” and film the progress to create a documentary.
Cultivate video talents and shoot environmental documentaries to try to create the next “Beyond Beauty: Taiwan From Above.”
