Director Chi, a Taiwanese documentary filmmaker, and environmentalist, produced an inspiring film called “Beyond Beauty: Taiwan from Above,” which won Best Documentary at the 2013 Golden Horse Awards. However, while collecting footage for the sequel to “Beyond Beauty: Taiwan from Above”, Director Chi and his team encountered a helicopter crash and all three members passed away. As director Chi, the first Taiwanese who produced a documentary through aerial photography, remains iconic and remembered in Taiwan and the international community for his work, we decided to investigate more about the Chi Po-Lin foundation. Furthermore, we would like to gain more knowledge about aerial photography and how it can raise awareness of environmental issues in Taiwan, promoting the ideology of Director Chi: Let Taiwanese witness the beauty but also the reality of the land.
