ABOUT US

We are students from Taiwan's Kang Chiao International School who participate in the International Cyber Fair competition. We are all 8th grade students, and most of us started to participate in 7th grade. With new members joining this team, we chose a topic we are interested in but rarely have time to truly understand and learn about: homelessness. Homeless communities are like a small society; each individual has their own story, and their goal is to get out of the situation of not having a home. In this project, each of us tried our best to inform others about homelessness, and here we are presenting our final website.

I believe I have increased both my efficiency and the quality of my writing during the assignment. Last year in the same competition, I not only had to spend more time on a paragraph, but the quality was also poor. Because this is my second time competing in the CyberFair, I typed faster, pondered more carefully, and led the team as a leader. Because several of our teammates were unable to contribute as much to this project due to personal concerns, my responsibilities were larger than normal. Giving the correct job to the right person was a key component in making our concept a reality. The process is more valuable than the product. Giving the correct job to the right person was a key component in making our concept a reality. The method is more valuable than the product. I believe that our desire to improve the world will bring us the best outcome.

As a second time participating in CyberFair, I feel more confident since I have experience with the whole process. However, I will say we faced bigger problems compared to last time. This was especially on contacting the interview. Challenges in contacting forced us to change our topic a few times, and preparing for a new topic takes a lot of time. So we wasted a lot of time researching information actually used later. The schedule seriously behind made us worried, it took us at least three weeks to arrange and confirm the interview itinerary. I will say there are two main things I learned from this year’s project, the importance of communication and paying attention to the surroundings. People often say “Your mouth is your second face and really feel this throughout the project. This is because when a social worker tries to help the homeless, they need to make sure they didn’t say anything offensive. On the other hand, paying attention to vulnerable groups is important. This reminds us of the dark side of our community. This allows us to understand what we need to improve as well as how we can help others.

In this initiative, we seek to convey to the global stage the conditions of Taiwan's homeless and the organizations that have assisted them. From topic selection to research and interviewing. We have entered the "house" of the homeless. From Wanhua Park to Longshan Temple, you can see homeless people everywhere, which is quite touching. The majority of homeless people experience the transition from home ownership to homelessness. This procedure entails living in substandard housing, feeling unsafe, going without a home, and ultimately going without a roof. NGOs and our government have worked very hard to rescue homeless people from this predicament. But there are still misunderstandings since people don't know much about the homeless, which is a significant obstacle Taiwan needs to overcome.

I've participated in CyberFair for two years. I believe that CyberFair gives us excellent learning opportunities. These projects help me hone new abilities like question-creation, translation, and analysis. I also want to thank our teachers and teammates for constantly helping us out with our assignment. We found it quite difficult to choose our project and find the location for the interview, but with the help of our peers, we were able to resolve the issue. Creating this project has been a good opportunity for me to gain knowledge about charities. Next time, I aim to contribute more to our work and the interview. These projects have taught me a lot, and I'm eager to keep working and getting better next year.

Second year at CyberFair club, this year was pleasurable, my main job was photography and website building, same as last year, I gained a lot of experience, but this year I am more confident because I already had experience, this year we are facing the problem of homelessness, which was a bigger crisis compared to last years project, although this year had some difficulties, I feel like we are doing fine so far, everything was smooth and going our way, comparing to last year I can say I have improved, my photography skills were better and my website building skills were also improved, but there are still a lot to learn.

This year's CyberFair provided a wonderful learning opportunity in terms of both design and collaboration. This year, I am the lead website designer, and I am responsible for the majority of the website's development. Fortunately, I have teachers and teammates who can help me with ideas, especially Mr. Peng Ying-Tsong and Zac, who have been really helpful in brainstorming and motivating me. Furthermore, as a team member in the CyberFair club for the second year, my workload has increased significantly from the previous year. I’m honored to present the website I’ve designed to the CyberFair organization, and hope this project will bring me great achievement and memory.

The CyberFair event this year was enjoyable. I mostly helped with the website, form translations, and rewriting, which gave me valuable experience and knowledge. I loved assisting my teammates with our research; however, this year presented a problem to us because many of the projects we planned to research could not be interviewed, and it was difficult to locate a project on which we could work; however, we were able to overcome the challenge. Even though I couldn't participate in the interview, I loved helping with our job. The adrenaline and happiness provided from this experience makes me look forward to the next year of CyberFair.

This is my first year in the CyberFair club and my first time competing, so I have a lot to learn. Throughout the year, I have gained a lot of new knowledge and gained experience. I learned a lot about the issue of homeless people in Taiwan from the Homeless Taiwan Association outside Wanhua Longshan Temple, and I understood that they need aid. I also believe that the charity is doing a great job. I am pleased to be a part of CyberFair, and more pleased ot be a part of this team. No matter what I learned from this experience, I believe I will use to conquer other challenges. Thanks my team and myself for this participation.
