Past Non-Eco-Friendly Products

Environmental Harms of Non-Eco-Friendly Products

In the past, non-environmentally friendly products had included petrochemicals, plastics, and non-reusable materials. Those non-environmentally friendly products can negatively impact the environment. For example, there are numerous waste dumps in the ocean. Nature can not decompose the enormous amount of waste. This can cause the marine organisms accidental ingestion or entanglement which will lead to death. For instance, the sea turtles were trapped by the discarded fishing nets. Therefore, the fishing net will bring about restricted movement, amputation, and asphyxia. Furthermore, if the plastics are left in water for the long-term it can produce the smell of seaweed. Which will make the ingestion by marine life.

Reason behind the Replacement of
Non-Eco-Friendly Products with Green Products

Green products can reduce the negative impact on the environment. Consumer awareness of the environment increases, therefore, more people support and buy green products. This support for green products has led to gradual popularization in today's market. People become environmentally friendly by changing their lifestyles. For example, food, clothing, appliances, and transportation choices. Moreover, the Taiwan government has promoted a “green lifestyle” to encourage citizens to support the development of the green industry through energy-saving and carbon-reducing habits in daily life. To achieve a win-win between environmental protection and the country’s economy. “Green lifestyle” has led to 87.6% of Taiwanese consumers being willing to use electronic invoices when shopping and 34.2% of people starting to purchase products with energy-saving labels. In addition, with advancements in technology, many companies are willing to utilize technology to manufacture green goods, making green products more economically feasible and widespread.
