This is the second time to participated in the Cyberfair with this team. Unlike the hesitation and nervousness last time, with experience, we can complete the project independently in an orderly manner and divide the work to complete each part of the research. Although many mistakes occurred during the process, such as changing the topic, or being unable to find contact information, etc. However, the sense of accomplishment after solving it step by step with my teammates immediately doubled. In addition, I am very grateful to my teacher teammates, and (interviewers) for giving me these valuable interview information. None of them were indispensable to accomplishing everything we’ve done.
Through this research project, I learned the importance of teamwork and the spirit of never giving up. Despite facing numerous challenges at the beginning, such as companies refusing interviews or being unwilling to provide data, we successfully completed the study through the collective efforts of each team member. I still remember during the winter break, when everyone was constantly typing away on their computers or tirelessly contacting multiple companies. Despite the hardships, the feeling of working relentlessly with this group and encouraging each other remains unforgettable to me. It will undoubtedly be one of the most memorable and precious experiences of my high school journey.
During this cyberfair, although I did not have the opportunity to participate in the interview phase, I was still able to comprehend the company's mission statements and course of actions taken through additional research. In the actual research process, I also perceived the complicated process when it comes to communication with actual businesses in society, which was different from what I envisioned initially. In which, it requires long-term patience and contact, along with attractive purposes, rather than simply sending a mail to the corporation. At the same time, I also learned the importance of persistence from the company Hibang, which is to continue moving towards your goal regardless of any difficulties or setbacks encountered in the research process, and to never forget the original intention of your actions. This is also the belief we maintained throughout our research process.
This year's Cyberfair was more challenging than last year's, and we encountered many problems that made our limited time even tighter. But the experience of last year and the unremitting efforts of the team members allowed us to restart and complete this project in the shortest possible time. This study allowed me to learn about the seriousness of ocean pollution in Taiwan and see the small businesses that are quietly contributing to Taiwan’s ecological environment and working hard to reduce the burden on the ocean. I am very grateful to the company Hibāng, team members and teachers I worked with this time. Without any of them, we would not be able to complete this Cyberfair.
As a second time participant of the Cyberfair competition, I had a much different experience compared to last year. Prior to making the final product, our group encountered various difficulties in initiating the project, including miscommunications with previous company, lack of survey results etc. However, with the experience from last year, we were able to act and change plans in time to complete the project. As the website designer, I took on the responsibility of organizing information into visual representations, and with this I acquired many new skills on website building and formatting. In essense, I'm extremely grateful to have had this experience of working with yet another environment conservation company, widening my udnerstanding in the field. Also, I'm once again glad to be working with my teammates from last year, our cooperation from the previous year built trust and connection for yet another successful year.
In this year's Cyberfair competition, we faced more challenges, such as insufficient information and limited time pressure. During the process, our team remained calm and solved problems together, finishing the work efficiently. Although there were times when we couldn't solve the problems, during those times, our teammates lead and help each other out. These challenges have given us valuable experiences. I am grateful to my teammates for completing the competition together. This research theme is ocean conservation and the circular economy. We learned the importance of protecting our environment. We hope that our research can influence people to protect the environment.
This is my second time participating in the cyberfair. Compared to the first competition, we gained more skills and became more adapted to the workflow. Although we encountered many difficulties this time as well, our team members worked together with unity and cooperation to reach a consensus and devise solutions. The time for preparation was extremely tight, but we utilized our spare time to discuss, ensuring that we completed all tasks within a short timeframe and strived to do our best. The topic we chose this time was environmental conservation, and we interviewed the Taiwanese company called Hibang, which uses discarded fishing nets to produce glasses that fulfill people's current needs. Through the interview, I learned about the founders not giving up their spirit of perseverance and their dedication to bringing environmentally friendly products to Taiwan.
Through this cyberfair, I learned a lot, such as teamwork, time management, as well as environmental sustainability knowledge. Although I initially didn't voluntarily join this club, after working with others and putting in effort, I think it's a worthwhile experience. Even though I didn't participate in Hibang's site visit, I still learned a lot from the videos and appreciated their perseverance and determination, working hard to solve problems created by others, and dedicating a lot of time and effort to the environment, which I greatly admire.
Throughout this cyberfair I comprehended much knowledge about sea preservation and ocean waste recycling. It was stunning to find out the damage littering can cost to the ocean's ecosystem. Through journaling I understood the potential of fabricating new products from recycled waste. Through surveying I discovered the lack of consciousness people have for sea preservation and attention to life under water. Although, it is a bummer not being able to directly better the ocean’s ecosystem. I have found much to learn from others and hope more can acknowledge the importance of sea preserving.
