In elementary school, I had my first touch of conducting research and displaying information on a website. This experience sparked my motivation to sign up again and embrace the joy of discovery. In this project, we explored how oyster shells could meet with technology to produce a product that allows comfort and environment to co-exist. After interviewing and researching their progress towards a sustainable community, I realize that a lot of local companies are stepping towards responsible production, utilizing their minor strength to make a big change in our environment and society. As global citizens, I am willing to share their footsteps and urge more and more of us to follow their way, uniting and collaborating to cherish the places we call home.
This is my second time participating in the Cyberfair competition, as I joined in sixth grade. Compared to my first experience, I approached this project with a clearer sense of our purposes and responsibilities. We not only focused on finishing tasks, we also understood the real world impact of the company we are researching. Researching how oyster shells can be turned into textiles, help me see how technological innovations can address the environmental issues we face today. Through building the website, I strengthened my research, digital design, problem solving skills and learned how thoughtful layout, typography, and color choices enhance the effectiveness of how information is communicated. Overall, this experience showed me how technology can be used meaningfully to promote environmental awareness, while helping me grow more confident about my abilities.
As a kid who watched her older sister participate in the International CyberFair contest and win awards, I had always dreamed of becoming a member of the CyberFair club. This year, my dream has come true and my journey in CyberFair has just started. In this very first year of participating in the club, everything is new to me. Unlike some teammates who joined the CyberFair club in elementary school, what I knew about CyberFair was just an online platform that had a lot of websites created by junior and senior high students. However, it was only until I actually started working on the project that I understood how long it takes and how difficult it is to make a complete website. I realized that critical thinking is a crucial part of this project, whether in research, creating surveys, or even deciding the structure of the website. I believe that my critical thinking skills have developed and I hope they can develop even more as my journey in CyberFair goes on.
To be able to participate in the CyberFair is one of the best opportunities to improve and advance. This is my first time engaging in a CyberFair project, and although facing difficulties and hardships, it has served as a powerful catalyst for my personal growth. Navigating through the complexities of this competition, it pushes me to reach higher levels of academic skills, forcing me to improve proficiency in digital collaborations, critical thinking, and project management. This experimental process has made me realize that challenges are a crucial part of maturity, and taught me to turn frustrations into enhancing processes. Through this project, I have developed a stronger growth mindset, where I have learned to see failure as a chance to accelerate my abilities. Ultimately, CyberFair has been a transformative development process that has provided me with a flexible set of skills that will certainly impact my future academic and career advancement.
Cyberfair, a worldwide contest for curious and determined children to develop research and design skills. Encountering this project for the first time has been nothing short of incredible. Each step of the way, a new and different obstacle. Interviewing respected individuals, analyzing each part of the topic specifically. The competition requires us to dive into the stories of our spectacular locals. Every mishap calls for resilience and improvement. Sharing our heritage through Cyberfair enhances my education and allows me to step out of my comfort zone, pursuing goals out of reach. This project is more than just websites and research, it builds the foundation between us and others who want to spread the word about astonishing inventions that just might be the key to making the world a better place.
Participating in the cyber fair was a challenging yet meaningful experience for me, especially since it was my first time participating in such an event. At the start, I felt uncertain and overwhelmed by the amount of work and expectations, but as I continued working on more and more assignments and tasks, I slowly began to adapt and gained confidence. Furthermore, I developed better research and organizing skills, as I learned how to present information clearly and creatively using various methods. I also realized the importance of responsibility, collaboration, and perseverance when working on a project. Although there were challenges and moments where I got stuck and frustrated, this pushed me to think more creatively and critically, while improving my problem solving. All in all, joining cyber fair allowed me to progress, and grow, both academically and personally, as it pushed me to challenge myself more, and enhance myself even more.
Joining CyberFair for the first time has been a memorable and meaningful experience, and it was honestly very different from what I imagined. I didn’t realize how much planning, research, and teamwork were required until I started working on the project. Throughout the process, I learned how to communicate better, manage my tasks, and stay focused even when things got confusing or stressful. Working on a project about sustainability also changed the way I see our community. I didn't know that many companies are trying so hard to protect the environment, and it inspired me to become more aware of my own choices. Even though it wasn’t easy, CyberFair helped me grow and understand what it means to take responsibility in a team.
My first encounter in CyberFair for the first time was both challenging and rewarding, as it pushed me beyond my comfort zone and required a high level of responsibility and independence. At the beginning, I struggled with organizing a vast amount of research and filtering out the most essential information, but as I gradually adapted, I gained confidence and learned how to manage tasks more effectively. Through this project, I developed stronger research, organization, and critical thinking skills. Conducting research and learning from real world examples helped me understand how Modern technology can empower local Taiwanese and turn environmental challenges into sustainable solutions. I participated in the Cyberfair competition when I was in sixth grade, and the knowledge I gained then has served as a strong foundation for this project. Even though I have been in this competition before, I still experienced different approaches and different techniques in gathering information and creating the website. Through research, interviews and collaboration with my teammates, I strengthened my research and organization skills. Before this project, I did not know how oyster shells can be made into textiles, but after the research, my teammates and I learned more and more about how using oyster shells as textiles can help the environment. This time, not only did we finish the project, we also learned more about the topic and what actions we can take to help.
Being able to join CyberFair again has truly been an amazing experience for me. My experience with CyberFair in elementary school helped shape my research skills and passion for the competition, motivating me to continue participating. Although I have taken part in CyberFair before, this experience was different from what I had done in the past. Throughout this project, I gained a deeper understanding of the textile industry, its impact on Taiwan’s economy, how technology can be implemented to create a more eco-friendly and sustainable world, and how ordinary objects in our daily lives can be transformed into meaningful and useful materials. This experience also strengthened my research, organization, and collaboration skills, which will support me in my future academic journey.
